Changes in circumstances

My car is being modified, what changes do I need to tell you about?

It is always best to call us if you are unsure, however any non-standard equipment or modifications can affect your car insurance cover, even if the accessory is available as a standard fitting when the vehicle is bought new.

The exceptions are sound equipment and immobilisers - although immobilisers may reduce your premium. However, we do need to be told if you fit DVD players and Satellite Navigation systems.

Do I need to tell you if I get any new traffic convictions?

Yes, although they may not affect your premium, you may be left without car insurance cover if you do not inform us of all convictions. (This does not include parking fines.)

If a driver on the policy develops a medical condition, do I need to inform you?

Yes, you should inform us of anything which may affect the driving ability of any of the drivers covered by the car insurance policy.

The medical history of a driver may affect whether they can be insured. If a person suffers from certain medical conditions then some car insurers may not insure the driver until the driver has informed the DVLA. Once the DVLA has been informed and has given the driver permission to continue driving, cover will be available.

I can't find my Certificate of Motor Insurance. Can you supply a duplicate?

Please call us on 08701 60 25 36 and one of our customer service advisors will arrange for a duplicate to be sent to you. There will be a small charge for this, please see the Service and Administration fees for details.

If you have any further questions regarding our car insurance cover, not covered in this section, please call us on 08701 60 25 36 and one of our advisors will be happy to help you.
